Below, Arch and Gate in Coronation Park, Maltby, South Yorkshire. This project, called ‘Rich Seam’ was based on Maltby’s proud mining heritage, but also in recognition that its future now rests on rediscovering and nurturing the 'rich seam' of local talent that has been overlooked in recent decades, leading to a downturn in the town's fortunes. The project is part of efforts by the local community to restore pride in itself again.

Fabricated in hand-forged steel, slate, bronze and brick. The local community wanted the design to be about their mining tradition, the local children wanted a fairy-tale feel to it. The final installation accomplished both by working with school children who created the bronze leaves on the gate and developing designs with the Friends of Maltby Park.
